The Lark is a single seat 15m wing span sailplane with retractable gear, camber-changing flaps and Hutter-type airbrakes on the upper wing surface only. It is all metal construction for the wings, fuselage and stabilizer portion of the T-Tail. The rudder and elevator are fabric covered.
Transport Canada has issued an Alternate Means of Compliance (AMOC) for sailplane C-GBEQ s/n 131 in respect of AD IS-29D2 / EO-06. The AMOC removes the 20 / 35year service life limitations and changes the total service life to “on condition” subject to inspections every 1000 flight hours, 2600 landing or 12 years calendar time. The “RG” Type Inspection was completed in 2018 in conjunction with the issue of the AMOC
The last Annual Inspection was completed 2020/07/22 at 1611hrs total time. A new Winter Air Speed Indicator was installed as part of the Annual Inspection. In 2012 the wings were sanded down to bare metal and repainted. In 2015 the fabric on the rudder and elevators was removed and replaced with new painted fabric.
